The "O" in Obama

The New York Times has posted an interview with Sol Sender, the designer behind the rising sun logo that served El Presidente Si Se Puede so well in his victorious campaign against that old guy Las Siete Casas. One big revelation was that all of the different re-appropriations of the logo were handled by the campaign itself:

We handed the logo and design assets off to the campaign in the summer of 2007. From that point on, everything that you’ve seen was done by the campaign, including the “demographic” variations of the logo. They also evolved the typography to uppercase, incorporated Joe Biden’s name and added a white line around the mark.

The competence of the Obama staff never ceases to amaze me. (via DF)

P.S. If you’re still in the mood, you can make your own Obama “O” logos here.
