Election Logos 2008-1960

O.K. team, let’s play good idea/bad idea. It’s a good idea to collect the logos from all the major presidential campaigns from 1960 to present (even Nader’s). What you get is a really interesting look at what worked and what clearly didn’t (Heart + Key = Hartke, get it?), courtesy of LogoBlink.
But it’s an incredibly bad idea to combine all those logos in a single jpeg image. I mean, that was never going to work, especially once the big-name directories (like Coudal) started linking to it. The whole site is basically dead now. I’m trying to imagine what the thought process behind this monster was, whether it was stupidity or just plain nihilism:
Person A: Hey that’s a cool idea, having all those logos in reverse chronological order like that. But…hmm. I think that file’s going to be awfully big.
Person B: Fuck you.
Person A: Fair enough. Hey, that Hartke logo is pretty nasty, am I right?
[Awkward silence]
O.K., well good, but it’s going to take forever for our readers to download that file, you know.
Person B: Well, fuck them, too.
Person A: Yeah, I mean, what a bunch of whiners. Ha, ha. Get a life!
[Awkward silence]
It’s just that it will probably kill our servers, too. You know, bring down our whole website.
Person B: Look, fuck everybody. We’re all going to fucking die anyway. I’m putting the file up now. I hope it fucks up your life. I’m going home.
[End Scene]
I’m still working on it, but that’s what I’ve got so far.

O.K., It’s back up today, in two large files.
