#74. A River in Egypt

Reader Comments (3)

This is a worn-out joke in Egypt that I heard somewhere sometime.

When Jamal 'Abdul Nasser was President, he wanted to make sure that his VP was not as smart as he was, and so Jamal chose Anwar Sadat as his number two. When Sadat was President, he wanted to make sure that his VP was not as smart as he was, and so he chose Husni Mubarrak as his number two. Mubarak has still not found anyone to fill the number two spot.

Ha! That's the best explanation I've heard yet.

I never thought of Mubarak as a man of understatement.
